Do we get *all* of the photos? What about the raw files?

Culling images (picking the best ones to keep) is an integral part of editing. I use my skills and knowledge to create the best images and poses during the day. I want to give you a gallery of near-perfect images, valuing quality over quantity.
As for the RAW images, no, I don't release those. First, non-photographers don't usually have the software to open RAW files, as they're specifically designed to be large enough to edit without losing quality. Unedited files, while not RAW files, also aren't shared as editing is part of the product you're paying for, and part of my artistic vision. Unedited files don't reflect my personal touch and years of hard work and education in photography. You're paying for both, so I want to make sure you have images that show that.

At K. Elizabeth Photography we are 100% welcoming and affirming. We accept and photograph couples and families of every race, gender, sexual orientation, and at any point in a transition that you may be in. We truly believe that love is love and everyone is deserving of having a perfect day dedicated to sharing their love.
We also strive to only work with other vendors who feel the same.
Are you welcoming and affirming?
We all know how predictable the weather is (not). Part of my job is to make sure you get the best images I can give you no matter what. Most venues have a rain or snow plan (Plan B), but if you're not using a venue or your venue doesn't have a Plan B, it's up to us! We'll work together to make sure that your day is captured perfectly, no matter what. They say rain on your wedding day is lucky, right? Let's use it! As long as it's safe to do so, using rain or snow as a way to get creative can produce some incredible images.
If we do have to reschedule for any reason, we'll talk about potential dates to make sure that there is a seamless transition from one plan to the next. If I'm not available for whatever reason, I can either send an associate or follow the policy outlined in my contract. I'm also happy to chat and find other workarounds if we need to.
what if it rains or snows? what if we have to reschedule?
In the 8 years that I have been photographing weddings and elopements, I have never had to send an associate in my place (knock on wood). However, I do have a list of trusted photographers who would be happy to step in should the need arise. If you would prefer to go with a different photographer, and there is enough time to find one, I completely understand. You'll receive a refund of all money paid, minus the retainer in some cases, and can move on to finding another photographer that you can work with.
Finger crossed we never have to talk about that. I do everything in my power to be there from start to finish for all of my couples.
what if you can't make it?
Sharing your images on social media and my website helps me bring in new clients and is one of the best way I have of expanding my business. All of my contracts include a model release giving me permission to share your photos.
However, if you don't want me to share your images for any reason, all you have to do is let me know before you sign and I'll amend it to either sharing photos you approve of or not sharing any at all. It's that easy!

Where should our session take place? Outside? At home?
Lifestyle sessions reflect your life, so a majority of them take place in your home! We can use any room you're comfortable in - living room, kitchen, nursery - or we can use your garden, backyard, or front yard as well!
However, I understand that not everyone wants pictures taken in their home, so if there's a park, trail, or place nearby that you prefer, I'm more than happy to take your photos there.
With these types of sessions, I try to focus on the relationships between everyone, the moments in between versus the standard, posed, studio portraits. I want to see the laughter and the love more than the forced and fake smiles you get sometimes.
My cancellation and rescheduling policy is at least 48 hours notice. There is a one-time curtesy reschedule where you can transfer the non-refundable retainer to a new date. Any reschedule after that will incur a fee based on the package price. Cancellation outright forfeits the retainer paid and a new one is needed to book.
If you're running up to 15 minutes late, we'll just take those minutes off the end of your session, so a one hour session ends up being 45 minutes. Anything more than 15 minutes requires a rescheduled date following the policy above.
What happens if we need to cancel or reschedule? What if we're running late?
Kids are kids, and that's one of the main reasons I love photographing them! They're funny and goofy, but sometimes can be fussy. And that's OK! We'll take our time, get to know each other, and by the end of the session we'll hopefully have a beautiful gallery of images for you to pick from. I've got years worth of nannying, auntie-ing, and photography skills up my sleeves to get kids to smile, so don't worry.
Sometimes, though, kids just don't like photos. There are times where the crying photos are the best ones, but I understand you don't want all tears. If we have to reschedule due to a child not cooperating, it's a one time curtesy reschedule on top of the one I already give.
What if our kids don't cooperate?
Please, please, PLEASE - ALL pets are welcome. Well, almost all. Spiders, snakes, other insects, and any aggressive animals that don't deal well with strangers are not allowed. Pets are also subject to location rules, so if a certain spot doesn't allow pets, then we'll either have to leave the furry friends at home or pick a different spot.
Dogs, cats, pigs, horses, cows, hamsters, bunnies - let me love on the furry family members and then take super cute pics with them!
Can we bring our dog?
Honestly, if I can avoid using Photoshop, I do. My editing consists of color correcting with slight changes to achieve my style of warm and vibrant, adjusting exposure (lighting), and minor blemish removal. Say goodbye to pimples and small red spots.
I do not alter body shape, skin tone, wrinkles, anything. You are beautiful the way you are and you deserve to see just how incredible you look. My photos are real, honest, and true.
How much photoshop do you do?
Right now, no. However, not having my own studio means that, together, we can find one that fits the style of shoot you're looking for. There are studios located all over New England that have different set ups and features, different colors and pieces of furniture. Weather permitting, it also means we can find a unique place outside to get some gorgeous shots of you with nature!
Do you have your own studio?
A lot of boudoir photographers have client closets, where they purchase lingerie pieces in different sizes and let their clients pick from their selection. At the moment, I do not provide lingerie. One reason I don't is that I don't have a studio to store it in. The other reason is that I find shopping for lingerie to be an integral part of preparing for the shoot itself. You can choose literally whatever you want. You're not limited to what the photographer has in your size and you don't have to worry if you don't like what they're offering. You have the time to search and try on as many pieces as you would like, then choose the top 2-3 that truly make you feel your best, and your confidence will show in your final images.
Do you provide lingerie?
Boudoir sessions require a certain amount of vulnerability and trust between the photographer and client. The best way to establish this is to keep distractions to a minimum. While friends and significant others can provide a certain level of comfort, they can also create a barrier as well. We know they mean well, but sometimes having someone else there can make it more difficult for clients to trust me and themselves. During our session, we'll put on your favorite music, get in the zone, and have a fantastic time creating beautiful images!

can i bring my friend/significant other?
Do you have to? No. However, starting off the day with a bit of pampering helps set the scene. We'll chit chat, create a playlist for the day, relax with a coffee or a tea, and let our professional hair and makeup artist do their thing. It takes pressure off of you and our pros can keep it simple and natural or go full glam - the choice is yours!
Please let me know ahead of time of any allergies you have to any skincare products.
do i have to get my hair and make up done?
Boudoir sessions are all about celebrating you as you are! My goal is to show you how incredible and strong you are, no matter what life has thrown your way, and I find that the best way to do that is to keep things as close to real life as possible. Anything that is permanently on your body (scars, stretch marks, wrinkles) will stay while anything temporary (bruises and blemishes) will be edited out. I do not edit body shape or size and I do not alter skin tone.
